Mineral Makeup

Mineral makeup appears to be taking the cosmetic industry by storm. Most commercial lines of cosmetics have, by now, introduced their own line of mineral makeup. If comparing the cost of these brands, the range is anywhere between .00 to .00 or more. So why should I consider buying a higher price when the lower are available at any drug store or grocery market?

The answer is simple: quality and ingredients. Mineral makeup does seem to be the answer to many concerns with organic, pure, natural, and beneficial ingredients. Women want to take care of their skin, giving it the much deserved attention and care it so deserves.

With emphasis on pores, aging, natural, the mineral makeup fashion lines fit our needs.

It boasts to be made of ingredients found in nature that won’t clog or harm the skin. It also sell claim to be a natural sun protector. Mothers of teenage daughters are ecstatic over the claims that mineral makeup can be left on over night without harming the skin if the teenage may forget to wash before going to bed. The thoughts of saving on dermatology bills bring a twinkle to their eyes. So how does one choose the correct line of mineral makeup?

Choosing the Correct Line of Mineral Makeup

When choosing the correct line of mineral makeup fashion you must know your skin type. Do you have dry, mature skin? Is your skin oily and breaks out easily with foundation? Do you burn easily? These are three very important questions you must know the answers to before choosing your line of mineral makeup.

1. Dry, mature skin : I have interviewed women with dry, aging skin to get their opinions on mineral foundation. As I expected, there were several from both ends of the spectrum. What I discovered was that if the skin is not properly cared for both inside and out, no matter which form of makeup used, the results will not be what you expected. Dry skin needs to be moisturized both morning and night. Special care also needs to be given to the eye area. A healthy diet including plenty of water is a must! This will keep the skin hydrated and add less emphasis to wrinkles. Given all of these, mineral makeup well suits a dry, maturing face. It is not heavy and greasy. It glides over the face. It does not sit in wrinkles, illuminating them to all that are encountered. The women that I spoke with whose trials were less than pleasing were not as careful in skin care. Their concerns were the mineral product sitting in the wrinkles, making the skin appear drier. I recommend cleaning, toning, and moisturizing before applying the mineral foundation. Go lightly when applying the foundation, gradually building to the desired coverage. I also recommend looking for a mineral foundation in a cream formula. It seems to solve most of the concerns. The exceptionally good news for mature skin and mineral makeup is the ingredient titanium dioxide, which offers some sun protection. We know that the UVA and UVB rays are devastating to mature skin, and all others. This key ingredient adds to the protection, but should not be considered the sole protection used.

2. Oily skin: Research your brand of mineral ingredients before purchasing if you have oily skin and break out easily. While mineral makeup fashion is safe and healthy for most users, as with all products, you may find that the brand you chose makes your condition worse. Why? I thought one of the reasons for using mineral makeup was to help combat oily breakouts. The answer is quite simple. While the mineral makeup contains natural ingredients that are beneficial, it may also contain some ingredients that can cause blemishes to occur by clogging the pores. Look for brands that do not have the ingredients: bismuth oxchloride (can clog the pores), alcohol (drying), talc, and dimethicone (causes blemishes). These ingredients can further irritate the skin, making the acne or oily production worse. Look for good ingredients like zinc oxide which helps heal the skin and is a natural inflammatory. Also, the ingredient serecite helps reduce the appearance of pores, a common feature of oily skin.

3. Burns easily: If you have skin that burns easily in the sunlight, you will want to pay close attention to mineral makeup. Yes, it does contain titanium dioxide, a mineral that offers natural sun protection, but this is not enough to protect your skin. Please do not rely on mineral makeup as your sole protector. Your skin is too valuable.

My Personal Recommendations

I have found several brands of mineral makeup that I used and loved. Each are quality products that I feel comfortable recommending to you.

Seacod oil – Super food

Oil sourced from the liver of cold water fish like the cod has numerous health benefits. So concentrated a source of vitamins and minerals is it, that it has now taken on the status of a super food for health conscious people. It is important though, that you consult your physician before starting the course.

What is so special about seacod oil?

Cod liver oil is a treasure trove of vitamins like vitamin A (Retinol) and vitamin D. Vitamin A is important for the health of eyes, skin and hair. Vitamin D is necessary for the good health of bones and teeth, as well as muscle regenration. Seacod oil also contains Omega 3 fatty acids, which are excellent for the health of the heart.

Minerals like phosphorus, calcium, sodium and potassium are also present in requisite quantities

Health benefits of consuming seacod oil

A primary health benefit of seacod oil is that it helps alleviate mild forms of depression. Clearly, this is a mantal benefit which ensures proper functioning of the mind and emotional faculties. It actually is safer to consume seacod oil instead of allopathic medications for depression, as the latter can have detrimental side efects on the body. Also, pharmaceutical medicines do not provide any nourishment, while seacod oil does so in plenty. Healthy fatty acids in seacod oil help you have a better, much more efficient circulatory system. Cardiac health, as well as proper blood flow and lessened level of cholesterol and harmful triglycerides can be achieved with cod liver oil consumption.

Also, the vitamins and minerals in seacod oil help maintain a well functioning nervous system.

Seacod oil as a beauty aid

Vitamin A present in seacod oil is great for ocular, meaning eye health. Your eyesight is protected, and mild defects like blurriness of vision can be cured by taking these supplements. Blood shot eyes are cleared, and the whiteness of the pupils restored making the eyes look prettier. Skin health too, is greatly enhanced by the consumption of seacod oil. It helps skin becomee smoother, supple and brings on a lovely glow. Also, the ageing process is delayed Seacod oil helps prevent, as well as cure hair loss. It helps hair take on a glossy sheen too. A great health benefit of seacod oil is that it helps to stay fit. It gives the stamina and the vitality to exercise and stay fit, and hence maintain a great figure too.

A very important health benefit of seacod oil is that a person’s immunity levels are considerably boosted by its consumption. You fall sick lesser often, and when you do you can be assured you will recover rapidly. Also, the Vitamin D in it helps the bones grow stronger, and helps prevent fractures especially in elderly people. If you want to prevent kidney diseases, or even diabetes, seacod oil consumption is a good bet. Even if you are already suffering from the diseases, it can help alleviate symptoms. The vitamins and minerals in seacod oil are also said to be able to help cure cancer.

An excellent reason why you should use healing crystals and minerals is this: decreasing electromagnetic pollution in your home.

Electromagnetic fields (EMF) are naturally occurring energy waves that emit frequencies of 300 cycles per second. Add to this our many electronic toys and gadgets, all of which emit EMF, and the amount of EMF absorbed by our bodies quickly rises to unhealthy levels.

Too much EMF absorption can negatively affect your health, with a few of the many symptoms being: depression, paranoia, dizziness, tremors, skin rash, memory loss, weakened immune system, anxiety, sleepiness, insomnia, hair loss, heart attacks, fatigue, epilepsy, and the list goes on and on.

The guys on the SYFY™ show “Ghost Hunters” call indoors areas thick with EMF readings ‘fear cages’ because people who work in these areas often experience paranoia, hallucinations, depression, and other unpleasant symptoms.

It is a very apt nickname for these places.

I lived in a ‘fear cage’ for the worst three years of my life to date, in a basement apartment that had the furnace, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring for the entire house right outside my bedroom door.

My physical and mental health plummeted. The heavy atmosphere made breathing difficult. I had no physical energy. It took an effort to walk around inside the apartment because it felt as if I were trying to walk through wet cement. A horrible inexplicable oozing rash developed on my hands. That apartment felt like an upper level of hell.

This is when I learned I am hyper-sensitive to EMF. A lot of people are without realizing. You could be hyper-sensitive to electromagnetic fields.

This is not something to wave off as nothing! EMF pollution is an unavoidable by-product of our technological age, but it is also not impossible to live with if you limit your time around computer, appliances, and other electronic equipment.

Natural crystals and minerals from the earth can be used as EMF shields to help absorb the excess energy waves you and I wade through every day.

When looking for crystals or minerals to use for this purpose, look for varieties that absorb and ground energy. Below are examples of easy-to-find minerals you can use to absorb excess EMF emissions.

1. Jasper is my all-time favorite. This mineral absorbs excess EMF emissions as well as grounds and connects your energy with the earth. Wear jasper as a necklace or keep a good sized piece of jasper on your computer desk. This highly decorative stone comes in many beautiful colors and is commonly found at mineral shops, craft stores, or online.

I keep a strand of Jasper beads on my laptop while writing. Not only do the beads absorb the excess EMF, but they also ground my own energies, which keeps my thinking clear and focused.

2. Black Obsidian is another mineral that can knock excess EMFs out of the park. Obsidian, a shiny stone with a glassy black surface, is formed from molten lava. It sucks in negative energy from the environment, not only EMF but also negative energy created by emotions. This is a very grounding stone you may find too powerful for your liking. Remember to trust your intuition when choosing crystals and minerals.

3. If the energy of black Obsidian is too much for you, then try Smokey Quartz crystal. The energy of Smoky Quartz is strong, but it works slowly and gently. I think its energy has a grandmother feel to it; powerful, wise, ancient. This crystal works superbly as an EMF shield. Its energy can help relieve any stress, helps you to focus, and can even help you sleep.

4. Fluorite is another favorite crystal widely used by crystal people. It comes in shades of purple, green, blue, yellow, clear, white, and a combination of all the colors. Green fluorite works best for grounding and absorbing negative energy from the environment. But again, you may find purple or rainbow Fluorite is more your ticket. In the photo at the end of this page are green and purple Fluorite pyramids.

5. Malachite is a beautiful deep green stone with darker bands. It absorbs, grounds, and discharges negative energy in the environment, from situations, and from your personal energy bodies. This means its energy has a tendency to bring to light unresolved emotional issues, so, unless you want to resolve any issues, you might want to use Malachite in small amounts.

Never allow young children or your pets to ingest Malachite! Malachite has very high levels of copper in it which can cause serious and even fatal blood poisoning.

6. Pyrite stone resembles lumps of smooth metal. It will block EMF emissions as well as many other kinds of negative energy. Carry Pyrite in your pocket and keep it beside your microwave or computer. You might try taping a piece to your cell phone!

7. Let us not leave out the king of the crystal realm: clear quartz crystal. Clear quartz crystal is used in many ways, one being blocking and neutralizing EMF emissions. Place a large piece near your microwave or computer equipment, or place a large piece on each window sill in your computer room.

Choosing which kind of crystal or mineral to use is easy. Your energy will react either positively or negatively with different types of crystals and minerals. You may hate black Obsidian but love Jasper. You may not understand why and that is okay. Choose the crystals or stones that “feel right” to you and you will have a natural defense against the electromagnetic fields in your life.

Vitamins

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin).

Stress is one of the common causes of hair loss. Vitamin B12 is an anti-stress vitamin, which improves the condition of the immune system and it is also a potent hair growth stimulator. It is available in food sources like fish, dairy products, organ meats (the meat found in liver and kidney), eggs, beef, and pork.

PANTOTHENIC ACID (Vitamin B5) Prevents greying and hair loss. Present in whole grain cereals, brewers yeast, organ meat, egg yolk.

Daily dose 4 to7 mg.

Vitamin B6—Prevents hair loss, and helps in melanin formation. Daily dose 1.6 mg.

Niacin (Vit. B3) —Promotes scalp circulation. Present in wheat germs, fish, chicken, Daily dose 15 mg.

Biotinhelps in keratin production. It prevents hair loss and greying of hair. Found in whole grains, egg yolk, liver, rice, milk. Daily dose 150 -300 mcg.

InositolKeeps hair follicle healthy at cellular level. Present in whole grains, brewers yeast and liver, citrus fruits. Daily dose up to 600mg.

Vitamin E. the deficiency of this causes serious health hazards apart for major hair loss. Vitamin E is necessary to provide good blood circulation to the scalp by increasing the uptake of oxygen

Vitamin C- required for the healthy growth of hair and skin. It is commonly found in food sources like citrus fruits.

Proteins and Amino acid

Main constituent of hair is protein, so protein is an essential nutrient for hair production. Following are the important amino acids which play an important role in hair growth.

L- CYSTINE–For hair growth, the most important amino acid is cysteine. It contains sulfur molecules which cross link with each other to produce disulfide bonds. These chemical bonds give strength to hair. This facilitates longer hair growth beyond what is genetically programmed.

L- LYSINEThis amino acid inhibits 5-alpha-reductase.This amino acid plays an important role in androgenic alopecia. (Hair fall)

L- ARGININE-Hair follicles use nitric oxide to maintain and promote new hair growth. L-arginie is required to produce nitric oxide.

MSM—METHY-SULFA METHONATE

Sulfur has been called nature’s “beauty mineral” because it is needed to keep the hair glossy and smooth and keeps the complexion clear and youthful. It is needed for synthesis of collagen and is prevalent in keratin, a tough protein substance necessary for health and maintenance of the skin, nails and hair.

Minerals:

Minerals are one of the important diet supplements required for healthy hair growth. Without adequate quantity of minerals, our body is not able to absorb the benefits of other nutrients like vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and fats.

Silicon It builds the connective tissues, like ligaments and tendons. It leads to the growth of hair, skin and fingernails. Silicon is largely available in foods like whole grain, breads, cereals, alfalfa, beet, black pepper, bean and pea.

Zinc is required for the normal growth of the hair, teeth, bones, nails and skin. It builds the connective tissue like ligaments and tendons. Zinc is largely available in food sources like whole wheat bread, seafood and other animal meats.

Most people may realize that vitamins and minerals are two different things, but probably do not know what vitamins and minerals your body needs and what they are good. Vitamins, for example, are essential for life, regulate metabolism and assist the processes that release energy from digested food.

They also work with enzymes, coenzymes, enabling the body to carry out their activities, or create and feed the cells. Vitamins are also water-soluble or fat soluble.

This is important because vitamins must have an effective way that breaks down the body, otherwise not used and passed through the body. This is really the best show in most vitamin pills or supplements you can buy in stores or online.

Most of the vitamins in these companies are not sufficiently soluble in water or fat to the body every time they break.

I often refer to them as the bricks of vitamins. While you think you are getting all the vitamin C you are buying is likely to happen through you. This has often been referred to as “expensive pee.”

Just be careful and do your research. As I said a reputable company will be able to provide information showing that the vitamins are of the highest potency and purity, and are very soluble.

What are fat-soluble vitamins? They are: vitamin A, D, E and K. Beta-carotene is a fat soluble vitamin.

Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in body tissues and requires the presence of fatty acids to be transported and absorbed. Fat-free diets, for example, interfere with the absorption of these vitamins and can create any deficiencies.

What about water soluble vitamins? They are: B complex, which consists of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12. Biotin, vitamin C and folic acid are also water soluble vitamins.

Water-soluble vitamins must be consumed regularly and replenished in the body. Water-soluble vitamins must be consumed or take sometimes divided throughout the day. That’s one reason it is best to eat a few small food throughout the day to eat one or two meals a giant.

Water-soluble vitamins are not stored in the body, and therefore sell out quickly. Unlike animals, we can not produce vitamin C in our body, therefore it is essential that you pay attention to the amount of vitamin C being consumed, which is the only way your body enough to be healthy.

Well enough about vitamins, let’s talk about minerals. Minerals are necessary for the proper composition of body fluids. Are also necessary for the construction and formation of blood and bones, as well as building and feeding the cells.

The minerals that are needed are: Calcium, sodium, magnesium, boron, copper, cobalt, chromium, iodine, sulfur, manganese, selenium, iron, vanadium, zinc, potassium, silicon and phosphorus.

Minerals are needed in varying amounts and, like vitamins, are essential for a healthy body. Minerals also give you sustainable energy.

The best way to get the right amount of vitamins and minerals is through your diet (vitamins and minerals are easily degraded in food). However, many of us do not have the time or money to create a perfect diet for ourselves, which contains the right amount of vitamins and minerals.

That’s why many people rely on supplements and diet to give them vitamins and minerals they need. But if you are buying vitamin and mineral supplements you need to do your research and make sure they are of the highest quality and most important thing is to be divided into your body and not just pass through you.

A good company will give you access to this information before buying. You can be sure that vitamin and mineral supplements that you are buying are of the highest quality, ensuring that the company you buy from has a proven record of success, plenty of testimonials and a money back guarantee. If your work product that guarantees them, otherwise, it has something to hide.

Many supplements exist that will help speed up the success of your acne treatment. It is well known that taking certain vitamins, minerals, or other types of supplements will help to eliminate skin disorders. We are listing some of the most effective ones to use when fighting acne.

Vitamins
50,000 IU of water-soluble Vitamin A should be taken right before eating. Don’t take more than this amount before first getting your physician’s approval because too much Vitamin A can be toxic. If you start experiencing unwanted symptoms with this dosage, then decrease it to 25,000 IU. 500-1000 mg of Vitamin B5, or pantothenic acid, should be taken daily 25-150 mg of Vitamin B6 should be taken daily (Vitamin B6 should be one of the vitamins in a B complex vitamin). 1000 mg of buffered Vitamin C should be taken three times daily. 400 IU of Vitamin E should be taken twice daily and must be taken before eating.

Minerals
One tablet of Calcium Hydroxyapatite Complex should be taken 3 times daily after every meal.

200-500 micrograms of Chromium should be taken daily.

25-60 mg of Zinc Gluconate should be taken once daily. Never exceed 100 mg unless you get your physician’s approval. Zinc is, by far, the most important mineral to take in your quest for freedom from acne because it reduces DHT, the male sex hormone that can cause acne if there is an excessive amount of it in the body.

Oxygen Elements Plus
Oxygen Elements Plus is a nutrient that, with proper use, will add 10 to 20% more oxygen to your blood. Aside from the beneficial oxygen, this product also contains other useful minerals and nutrients.

Acid, waste products, and pathogens serve to use up much of the oxygen you receive. The amount left behind is what your body must use for the rest of its needs. Because you need more oxygen than is readily available, Oxygen Elements Plus is a great product to help you get it. Your skin needs oxygen to stay clean and bacteria-free. More oxygen may result in you having clear, acne-free skin.

Other Special Supplements
Six special supplements exist, in addition to Oxygen Elements Plus, that might clear your acne, as well as improve your level of health and immunity to infections.

- Mineral Electrolytes
- Digestive Enzymes
- Lecithin
- Chlorophyll
- Systemic Enzymes
- Flax Seed Oil

These supplements should be used according to the directions on their individual labels.

It is important to discontinue using any of the supplements we have mentioned here (especially the ones with high dosages) once your acne is under control.

Once things get back to normal, you should continue whatever supplementation program you were originally using. Prolonged use of supplements in high dosages can sometimes cause a chemical imbalance in your body and can be harmful to your health.

Minerals are simple-structured substances that play major roles in many metabolic functions. Many minerals are components of enzymes, which are catalysts of chemical reactions in the body. Additionally, minerals regulate and control the normal function of human and animal tissues, muscles, and organs. For example, sodium and potassium play a vital role in maintaining proper fluid balance. Calcium acts as a major structural component of bones and teeth. Iron carries oxygen throughout the body in blood.

Minerals are divided among two classes, major minerals and trace minerals. Animals and humans need major minerals, including sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus in large amounts. Trace minerals, also called trace elements, are needed in small amounts, although that should not be taken as an indication of the importance of trace minerals for the proper functioning of the body.

Some of the most essential trace minerals include iron, zinc, copper, selenium, chromium, and iodine.

It seems desirable to mention the important major and trace minerals, their unique important functions, how they are absorbed and excreted by animals and humans, in what foods they can be found, and their supplemental uses. Let us begin with a discussion on water and fluid balance, a vital metabolic process which incorporates many minerals. The further readings can be consulted for more detailed explanation of metabolic functions and discussion on other nonessential minerals such as metals.

Water constitutes 50-55% of a woman’s body weight and 55-60% of man’s weight. Water gives structure and form to the body, helps maintain body temperature, and also creates the necessary environment for cell metabolism.

There are two compartments of body water, extracellular and intracellular fluid. Extracellular fluid (ECF) is water found outside of cells. Making up approximately 20% of total body weight, the ECF consists of blood plasma, interstitial fluid surrounding the cells, secretory fluid, which is water in transit, and dense tissue fluid, which is water located within dense connective tissue such as cartilage and bone. Intracellular fluid (ICF) is the water inside the cells. It makes up 35-40% of total body weight.

The maintenance of correct proportions of ECF and ICF is vital to proper functioning of the body. The body maintains fluid balance by calibrating water intake, excretion, and internal processes controlling water distribution. The thirst mechanism in animals is a complex interaction of control centers in the brain and hypothalamus; though the details of that mechanism go well beyond the scope of this write-up, it is important to know that the thirst mechanism is linked to water loss. When total body fluid volume decreases by 0.5-1.0%, the thirst mechanism asserts itself. Approximately 55% of water intake is derived directly from fluids, 35% from food, and 10% from water produced as a byproduct of metabolism.

Kidneys excrete approximately 1 to 2 liters of urine per day. Approximately 900 milliliters (ml) of this amount is obligatory water excretion that gets rid of solutes and is constant from day to day. The remainder is excreted according to the fluctuating needs of the body and the changing renal tubular reabsorption rate. The process by which the body loses water through the skin is called insensible water loss. Approximately 350 ml of water is excreted by diffusion through the skin, while another 100 ml is lost through normal perspiration. Heavy perspiration may cause a greater loss. Water loss through respiration is about 350 ml per day, varying with climate. About 150 to 200 ml is lost through feces.

For reasons of chemistry, water molecules tend to desire equality, passing from a more dilute solution with high water and low solute concentrations to a less dilute environment with low water and high solute concentration and thereby bringing the solutions to near conformity. This phenomenon of water movement is called osmosis. The bodies of animals and humans maintain proper fluid balance by taking advantage of this natural tendency of water through the manipulation of solutes. The body shifts the solutes, and the water, whether ECF or ICF, moves to follow and equalize the concentration. The movement of solutes in the body occurs in two separate ways. Diffusion is a passive process, requiring no energy, in which particles in solution spread throughout the solution and cross membranes to an area of lesser solute concentration. Active transport involves energy from the cell, but allows transport of particles across membranes from solutions with low concentrations to solutions with high concentrations.

There are three main types of solutes: electrolytes, plasma proteins, and small organic compounds. Electrolytes are chemical elements such as acid, alkali, or salt dissociated into ions. Sodium comprises about 45% of the total electrolyte concentration. The sodium cation in ECF is the primary osmotic force in maintaining maintains the necessary water volume for cells. Chloride, the main anion in ECF, provides balance to sodium. The ICF contains potassium and phosphate. The concentration of electrolytes in a solution is based on the number of particles in solution. This concentration is measured in milliequivalents.

Plasma proteins are substances with large molecular weight that influence the shift of water from ECF to ICF, or vice versa. These are referred to as colloids since they form colloidal complexes that do not pass through membranes very well. These proteins, primarily albumin, remain in the blood vessels and maintain the integrity of blood volume by exerting a colloidal osmotic pressure (COP) that maintains the proper ration of water by pulling fluids and solutes from interstitial spaces into the blood circulation. Hydrostatic pressure, the pressure exerted by a liquid on the surfaces of walls that contain the liquid, serves to balance COP; it causes fluid to be pushed out of the capillary and into the interstitial fluid.

Small organic compounds such as glucose, urea, and amino acids, flow freely through membranes. They only affect water balance if they occur in unusually high concentrations. On a broader, less localized level, the kidney is primarily responsible for maintaining water and electrolyte balance in the body. The kidney is alternately triggered to action by the hormones vasopressin and aldosterone. Vasopressin, also called antidiuretic hormone (ADH), is secreted by the pituitary gland and stimulates the reabsorption of water. ADH secretion can be stimulated by a loss of body water, whether it is an actual loss or the result of a shift of water from plasma to interstitial ECF spaces as occurs in congestive heart failure. Aldosterone, secreted by the adrenal gland, acts primarily to conserve sodium, but in doing so has the affect of controlling water loss.

The mechanism of action of aldosterone is referred to as the renin- angiotensin-aldosterone mechanism. Renin is an enzyme secreted by the renal cortex into the blood under the circumstances of decreased sodium intake, sodium loss, or decreased fluid volume. Renin interacts with a serum globulin from the liver to form angiotensin I and angiotensin II in the blood. Angiotensin II increases the force of the heart beat, constricts arterioles, and diminishes renal blood flow. This triggers the release of aldosterone. Aldosterone causes the kidneys to retain and reabsorb sodium. This action, in turn, conserves water and results in loss of potassium.

Usually caused by excessive loss of water or low water intake, hypertonic dehydration refers to the bodily condition when the osmotic pressure of ECF is higher than that of ICF, causing water to shift from the cell into the ECF. In this scenario, water loss exceeds electrolyte losses. Symptoms of hypertonic dehydration include thirst, a hot and dry body, vomiting, disorientation, and low output of concentrated urine. There are a variety of possible reasons for inadequate water intake, including a defective thirst center, impaired consciousness, a lack of water, or an inability to drink water.

The opposite situation, in which water shifts from the ECF to the cell, is called hypotonic dehydration. This can be caused by excessive intake of water without an adequate amount of electrolytes. Symptoms include weakness without thirst or decreased urine output. Diseases can greatly affect the body’s ability to regulate its fluid balance, resulting in swelling, pain, and other symptoms. Gastrointestinal disorders may result in excess loss of water and electrolytes in secretions, giving rise to symptoms such as weakness, vomiting, and disorientation. Congestive heart failure causes cardiac edema, an excessive accumulation of fluids in the body resulting in swelling. Liver disease causes a decrease in plasma protein that can result in ascites, an accumulation of excessive fluid in the abdomen. Renal disease, such as nephrosis, also results in ascites. Decreased protein stores that can result from the malnutrition often associated with cancer can cause edema. Hypertension causes an increase in fluid volume associated with sodium retention or insufficient potassium. Normal intake of water through fluids is approximately 1200 to 1500 ml per day. About 700 to 1000 ml are ingested daily in foods.

Candida Diet – SECRET Dietary Treatment Revealed

Adhering to a well defined candida diet is the first move for dealing with yeast infections. Recent research indicates that the right diet plan may be highly effective in preventing certain health problems and chronic diseases, including Candida infections. Before discussing the connection between candida diet and its impact on yeast infection, well take a quick look at what candida infection is and discuss the specific conditions that bring it on.
Candida is the scientific name for single cell microbes to be found in small amounts in the most areas of the human body: the intestines, the genitals, the mouth etc. Although in the body that is healthy these microbes are kept in check by beneficial bacteria and an operational immune system, a combination of certain conditions can wreck this healthy balance. Candida can grow out of control and take on a root-like structure to damage the mucous membranes of the gut, invading the bloodstream and causing the well known symptoms related to yeast infection. As these microbes are mobile and can reach different parts of
the body, systemic as well as local yeast infection can occur.
There are many factors that bring on yeast infection. Some of these factors are related closely to food. Observing diet plans that can prevent yeast infection from spreading is the first and one of the basic moves in and make to holistic Candida therapy. Adhering to the following diet rules, in combination with other nutrition and lifestyle principles, can bring positive results to your general health and particularly to your yeast infection problem:
1. Stop eating a refined sugar and carbohydrates. Refined sugar (which includes simple carbohydrates such as molasses and honey) and other refined carbohydrates (such as white flour, white rice, any type of cereals etc.) are all
food for candida. Consuming such foods can make candida breed. To prevent candida overgrowth, use Stevia instead of sugar and use whole grain non-gluten products (such as brown rice, buck wheat bread) to replace refined
carbohydrates.
2. Foods that contain yeast or mold (like white vinegar, mushrooms, calm, dried fruits, canned vegetables and some condiments) can also encourage Candida and should not be eaten.
3. To fight Candida your immune system needs to be strong. Using antibiotics can debilitate your immune system and kill off friendly bacteria. Therefore, many nutritionists recommend that their patients stop using antibiotics and reduce intake of dairy products that may also contain antibiotics. Since strengthening the immune system is an integral part of preventing yeast infections, daily consumption of garlic can lessen the likelihood of recurrent yeast infections.

4. Dairy products and cows milk products in particular, should be avoided to because they can lead to allergic reactions create excessive mucus and take longer to digest. Some of the main east infection factors can include allergies and digestive problems. Better alternatives to dairy products of Cows milk are organic goat and sheeps milk products.
5. To stop Candida overgrowth, it is important to maintain the right acid-alkaline balance. That means the right “PH” level in your blood. PH is measured on a scale that goes from zero to fourteen where fourteen is the most alkaline, seven is
neutral and zero is the most acid. Your body functions best in the range of PH 7.35 and 7.45 for acidity in the blood. Any extra acidity makes for a context where candida multiplies. An alkaline food plan, which is based on consumption of
alkaline forming foods (foods with calcium, cesium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, almonds, green juices, and most fresh vegetables etc.) with moderate consumption of foods that form acids (most meats, fish, dairy and grain products) can help you regain your alkaline quotient to better control candida growth.

6. A study by Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York revealed that eating foods rich in betacarotene (a natural substance that’s converted into vitamin A in the body) could offer some protection against yeast infections.
Remember that Candida diets can be very good for halting all kinds of yeast infections, but that they are only the first part of a full holistic therapy.

This article is based on the book, “Yeast Infection No More” by Linda Allen. Linda is an author, researcher, nutritionist and health consultant who dedicated her life to creating the ultimate holistic yeast infection solution guaranteed to permanently cure the root of candida and dramatically improve the overall quality of your life, naturally, without the use prescription medication and without any side effects.

As we are told over and over the key is to have a well balanced diet (yeah right),get plenty of rest (come on how many people actually get 8 hours of sleep?), exercise (okay so hauling around kids all day isn’t considered your daily exercise) and stress management (I’ll not even go there).

The thing about supplements is that you need to follow the RDA (recommended daily allowance) you should take in at least 2,000 calories a day.

Vitamins and mineral supplements

alternative for those who do not get proper nutrition in their daily diet. Or some times people who are lack certain vitamins and minerals need additional doses. Such as women who are pregnant are advised to take folic acid during their first trimester.

As in a certain period they require extra doses of folic acid which is compensated by giving the daily dose.

Then through out their rest of the pregnancy they are given other vitamin supplements according to their needs or deficiencies.

Therefore, it is recommended a normal person to eat a balanced diet containing all essential nutrients. If you are healthy from the inside then definitely you will look beautiful from the outside too. Here I will explain some essential vitamins and mineral supplements are not only good for your health but also for your skin.

B vitamins are instrumental in the well-being of your hair

Biotin (Vitamin B7 or Vitamin H) is found in swiss chard, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, carrots, almonds, eggs, onions, cabbage, cucumbers, cauliflower, goat’s milk, cow’s milk, raspberries, strawberries, halibut, oats, and walnuts. Biotin keeps hair from falling out. Not getting enough Biotin in the diet can result in more severe hair loss including eyelashes and eyebrows.

Inositol is not technically a vitamin in that it can be synthesized by the body, however it is crucial for maintaining hair health..

There are a number of foods inositol can be found in, including cereals with a high bran content, cantaloupe, melons, and oranges. It is known for helping the hair maintain its moisture content.

Wheat germ, poultry, meat, and fish all contain Niacin (Vitamin B3) which enhances circulation for a healthy scalp.

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) inhibits the graying of hair. Whole grains, egg yolks, and organ meats are good sources of vitamin B5.
I have often been asked about the necessity of vitamins for hair growth.

Poor nutrition is one of the most common causes of hair loss that is easier to treat and get over with. With some causes, like medication and medical treatments, you need to stop the medication to stop the hair loss.

The color of your hair is determined by the level of vitamin B6 you have in your system. Once again, it can be found in whole grains, eggs, and organ meats as well as many vegetables.

Hair loss can be prevented by eating plenty foods containing Vitamin B12 which includes chicken, eggs, milk, and fish.

But, what if you can’t stop the medication because it’s a matter of life and death? Worrying about a side effect like hair loss seems so trivial, doesn’t it? The best hair restoration solution in this case would be to have a diet that provides all the essential vitamins for hair.
